Subject: URGENT: Protest Saturday at Dayton Planned Parenthood
Support Planned Parenthood & Women's Rights
This Saturday, August 22 from 9:00-11:00 am
Planned Parenthood, 224 N. Wilkinson St in downtown Dayton
A coalition of anti-reproductive rights groups is calling for a National Day of Protest on August 22 at Planned Parenthood facilities across America. Locally Dayton Right to Life is holding a protest outside the Dayton Planned Parenthood Center that day from 9:00-11:00 am
We need to be there to represent the silent majority of women who depend on and support Planned Parenthood.
For nearly 100 years Planned Parenthood has provided access to high quality health care and education that empower women to make informed private decisions about their reproductive lives and sexual health. The majority of services they provide are preventive, primary care services which help prevent unintended pregnancies, reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections through testing and treatment, and screen for cervical and other cancers. Less than 3% of their work is involved in providing abortion, and none of that is financed through taxes.

Dayton Unit NAACP Celebrates
The Life of Horace Julian Bond
DAYTON, OHIO - AUGUST 20, 2015 – By special request of the family of Julian Bond and with respect to his desires for his final rites, the Dayton Unit of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will celebrate the life of Horace Julian Bond by spreading flower pedals on the water and joining the family and all 2,200 NAACP Units across the Nation in bidding farewell to Horace Julian Bond. This symbolic honor will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at precisely 3:00pm during the Dayton African American Cultural Festival as Bond's ashes are committed to the Gulf of Mexico by his family at the same time.
The Nation has loss a real champion for justice and equality and one of the most powerful voices that stimulates the conscience of all Americans when he speaks truth to power, said Derrick L. Foward, President of the Dayton Unit NAACP. He was a "Man among Men" and will be truly missed in the Civil and Human Rights industry, said Foward.
Dayton Youth Council Advisor Carolyn Perkins went on to say, "we have lost a champion of Civil Rights, from Co-Founder of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee in the 1960's to Chairman of the NAACP National Board of Directors." Please join the Dayton Unit NAACP and the DAACF on the bridges to carry-out his family's request.
Founded in 1915, the Dayton Unit of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is the city's oldest and largest nonpartisan civil rights organization. Its members throughout the Dayton Region and Montgomery County are the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities. Their core goals are to Inform, Educate and Empower the Citizenry as they pursue justice and equality for all Americans.

Subject: FW: Adecco-Union County
Just wanted to pass along that Adecco-Union County is at OMJ! Adecco-Union County is currently recruiting for Honda in Marysville and are looking to fill approx. 200 positions. The opportunity is there for good, stable employment with a company that is growing by leaps and bounds! Not to mention a nice salary and a shift differential to go along with it.

Subject: RSVP: Next week in Dayton
When members of Congress return to session in a few weeks to vote on a matter of war and peace, we know they will have heard from lobbyists for war hawks, who have spent tens of millions of dollars trying to sabotage a historic diplomatic achievement.1
Which is why we need to make sure every member of Congress hears even more loudly from all of us—the majority of Americans who demand that Congress support the Obama administration's agreement to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Will you join fellow MoveOn members and other pro-peace allies next Wednesday, August 26 at 11:30 a.m., outside the office of Representative Michael Turner? This event is part of a big, national day of action. We need you—and all of your diplomacy-loving, anti-war friends and neighbors—to help send a simple, vital message from coast to coast: No war with Iran.
Click below to RSVP and for additional details:
Yes, count me in!
No, I can't make it, but I'd add my name to the petition asking all members of Congress to support diplomacy over war.
Momentum is on our side. More than 25 Democratic and independent senators—including the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee—have already publicly supported the deal.2 More than 150 House members signed a letter in the spring in defense of diplomacy.3 And every major Democratic candidate for president has taken a clear stance: diplomacy, not war.4
But we know that the anti-diplomacy lobbyists will not rest—they are ramping up their pressure on Democrats, so we have to as well.
On Wednesday, August 26, at more than 175 events, MoveOn members and allies will gather outside the offices of key senators and House members to deliver petitions, gain the attention of local media, and send a national message. Will you join us on Wednesday, August 26 at 11:30 a.m., outside the office of Representative Michael Turner?
Yes, I'll be there!
No, I can't make it, but I want to add my name to the call for diplomacy over war.
President Obama has laid out a compelling case for this good deal. He has also made clear the alternative: a path toward war. Even Republicans admit it—the only alternative that's been suggested is Senator Tom Cotton's idea to "bomb Iran back to day zero."5
We know what a disastrous, costly, unnecessary Middle East war looks like. We can't let Iran become another Iraq.
Please join the event near you on Wednesday—and make sure Congress hears from all of us, not just the war lobbyists, as they head back to Washington.

Subject: Dayton's extraordinary Peace Week in Sept.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
With over 70 local organizations mounting forty community-wide events, the Annual Peace Week Celebration in Dayton, Ohio will be held from September 12-29 at multiple times and venues.
International Day of Peace, September 21st of each year, was created by a United Nations Resolution in the 1980s. Peace Day has grown to become a time for global celebration, education, and reflection on peacebuilding in local communities and throughout the world.
The Dayton Region Has a special role due to the Dayton Peace Process, which commemorates its 20th Anniversary this year, As a result of that historic event in 1995, Dayton has come to mean "peace" in many places around the world. In addition, the growth of many grassroots and civic peacebuilding organizations has led to Dayton being recognized globally as a city of peace.
HIGHLIGHTS (see www.peacedayton.org)
• Many faith-based, civic and neighborhood organizations are celebrating Peace Week with a Feast for Peace, part of the Global Feast for Peace started in Dayton, Ohio in 2013 and now held in over 100 cities around the world.
• The Veterans Peace Day Event will be held at the Korean War Veteran's Memorial, 130 Riverside Dr, Dayton. Participants will be local VFW and AmVets groups, Colonel David Kretz, 88th Communications Group Commander, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the Dayton VA Medical Center and all veterans and soldiers with speakers from the Korean community, and local and state officials.
• The Miami Valley Council for Native Americans will hold a Feast for Peace at the Miamisburg Mound, 900 Mound Avenue, and a Candlelight Walk to Mound Facility. One of the walkers will be an elderly woman who was held in one of the U.S. Japanese-American concentration camps during WW II.
The PEACE DAYton Collaborative Group is an association of over 70 organizations throughout the Dayton Region mounting 35 peace week events designed to the needs of their specific constituencies. PEACE DAYton's vision is to encourage and highlight each organization's year-long efforts to build a more peaceful community through efforts to increase safety, prosperity and quality of life for the Region's children and families.
To encourage all peacebuilding organizations to participate, peace is defined as the consensus values of increased safety, prosperity, and quality of life. All sectors of the Dayton community participate, including the arts, wellness, civic, faith-based, academic, commerce, safety & security, sports and recreation, service, and environmental groups.
