Carpenters union endorses Fairchild for City Commission

Darryl Fairchild has received another endorsement in his bid for Dayton City Commission. The United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local Union 136 endorsed Fairchild following a meeting last week of its membership. The local union also announced it will help Fairchild financially and with volunteer help.

This latest Fairchild endorsement follows one by the local Teamsters union and another by the Dayton Fraternal Order of Police. Both were announced last month.

Fairchild expressed gratitude to the Carpenters union for their vote of confidence and willingness to support the campaign efforts.

Fairchild is a Dayton native who grew up in Belmont and now lives in Dayton View. For more than 25 years, he has worked to strengthen the Dayton community and advocate for justice. He founded VoteDayton/Lift Greater Dayton and the Greater Dayton Interfaith Forum.  He was a member of the steering committee which created the Dayton Dialogue on Race Relations. He is appointed by the Dayton City Commissioners to the Human Relations Council and by the Montgomery County Commissioners to the Greater Dayton Premier Management Board. He continues to be a strong advocate of voting rights, neighborhood improvement and programs for youth. Fairchild is a husband, a father and a United Methodist minister.
