From: Daytonians Against War Now (DAWN) On Behalf Of Hilary Lerman
Subject: [DAWN] FW: Notable Palestinian Speaker on Non-Violent Change

Our good friend John Wagner informed me of this event. He will be speaking but the central speaaker is Mr. Burnat and, as the leaflet says, will speak on peaceful change in Palestine.   - Hilary for DAWN!
-----------------------------------------

Speaker's
name is Iyad Burnat https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Iyad_Burnat and he seems like the real deal to me. He is a Muslim, and has worked with Israeli and Americans Jews as well as Christians in his effort to prevent the theft of his land. He is also one of the "stars" of "Five Broken Cameras" - the Israeli/Palestinian film that was nominated for an Oscar - perhaps you have seen it.  The event is sponsored by the American Support Network for Palestine. I will speak for about 20 minutes on what some Christians are doing, and a professor from Wright State will also present a brief analysis, but the featured speaker is Mr. Burnat. I really hope you can come, and also pass it along through your network.

Subject: FW: Concerts

This concert is in celebration of The UN International Day of Peace.

Just a little history...: We are the World house Choir based out of Yellow Springs.  Our songs send a message of of justice, peace and equality.  Our choral director is Dr. Catherine Roma, former founder and director of Cincinnati Women's Muse Chorus and the Cincinnati Martin Luther King Choir.  She founded the World House Choir and directs three prison choirs as part of her retirement activities.  We are fortunate to have her in the Miami Valley area.

Subject: September in Branson, Missouri

The House of Bread held our 5th annual Fundraising Gala this past Saturday evening.  One of the funnest parts of the Gala is the silent auction.

If you would like to go, please make an online donation of $1000 and the trip will be given to the first person to do so.   You are welcome to send me an email to see if anyone else has accepted the offer!
