Some pundits and polls are saying the election is over, but it's not over. In fact, it's far from over! A recent Gallup poll found that only 47% of voters said they'll "definitely" vote this election, which is down 11% from the last Presidential election. This could be a really low voter turnout year.

To be clear, low voter turnout means the election could be much closer than the polls and pundits say it is right now. Low voter turnout means every single vote is still going to matter.

Let's make sure that everyone who can vote, gets a chance to vote!

Hi,

If you thought the tape of Donald Trump bragging about sexual assault to NBC's Billy Bush was bad, buckle up. Multiple TV producers are now saying there's worse footage, much worse, of Trump saying sexually predatory and extremely racist things.

But NBC is refusing to release the footage. In fact for a year now, the network has been protecting Trump--from Matt Lauer's biased presidential forum to Jimmy Fallon's softball interview with Trump. With 29 days left until the election, voters deserve to know just how much of a racist, hate-filled serial sexual predator Trump is.

Since the tape of Trump leaked on Friday, NBC has been under such intense pressure that it suspended Bush for encouraging Trump's behavior. If we speak up now while the media is reeling from the leak, we can force the NBC and MGM, the studio that now owns the unaired footage from Trump's reality TV show, to stop protecting Trump and release the rest of the tapes.

That's why I signed a petition to NBC and MGM, which says:

"Stop protecting Donald Trump and release the tapes."

There may be even more tapes on Donald Trump.

On Friday evening, The Washington Post published an account of a video recording of Trump in which the openly racist and fascist Republican candidate talks about women in ways that are beyond offensive.1 The Associated Press had previously reported that Trump "repeatedly demeaned women with sexist language, according to show insiders who said he rated female contestants by the size of their breasts and talked about which ones he'd like to have sex with."2

According to earlier reports, Mark Burnett, the creator and executive producer of "The Apprentice," was reportedly threatening to sue his own employees in order to hide more evidence of Donald Trump's outrageous behavior on the show – which may even include video of Trump using a racial epithet.3

After facing a massive public outcry, yesterday afternoon Burnett denied those reports as "unequivocally false" and claimed "MGM owns Mark Burnett's production company and the Apprentice is one of its properties." Burnett added "various contractual and legal requirements also restrict MGM's ability to release" the tapes.4

Either way, this may be all on tape, which MGM is keeping from the American people. The American people deserve as much information as possible about this misogynistic, unqualified demagogue who could end up with the country's nuclear codes.

Tell MGM: Release the Trump tapes. Click here to sign the petition.

The New York Daily News reported in detail what may be on the tapes, and If any of that is true, the American people deserve to know.5 To date, Trump has lied about and obfuscated his racism, xenophobia and misogyny – and gotten away with it. He still tried to claim in last night's debate that he respects women.

With the release of Friday's bombshell report that further exposed Trump as a serial misogynist, we need to do everything we can to release other Trump tapes to further expose his vile and deplorable racism.

Tell MGM: Release the Trump tapes. Click here to sign the petition.

It's now clear that supporting a Trump presidency means not only standing with a dangerous demagogue who is undermining our democracy, but aiding and abetting a full-scale assault on human decency.

The election is less than 30 days away. Waiting until after the election would only risk even greater chaos. The time to ramp up the pressure is now.

Tell MGM: Release the Trump tapes. Click the link below to sign the petition.

Subject: Tell Rick Scott: Extend the Voter Registration Deadline in Florida

Floridians are being forced to choose between their safety and their ability to vote in this decisive election.

Black votes and lives will not be swept away by Hurricane Matthew.

With only 28 days away from the election, time is running out. Tell Rick Scott: expand the voter registration deadline in Florida.

TAKE ACTION!

Hurricane Matthew is a monster storm. It cut a path of terrible destruction through the Caribbean, particularly Haiti where the death toll has surged. Despite this, Governor Rick Scott has refused to extend the voter registration deadline, a ploy to ensure that many Black and progressive voters never make it to the polls. If Trump loses Florida, he loses the election. And the 1.7 million Black Voters in the largest Battleground State will be essential to keeping Trump out of the White House in November.

Tell Gov. Rick Scott: Extend the Florida voter registration deadline to October 18th.

Yesterday, Florida Democrats filed a lawsuit demanding that Governor Scott extend the deadline to October 18th- otherwise, he will continue to compromise the integrity of the election. We know this is just one event in Governor Scott's long history of being an aggressive advocate of voter suppression. Under Scott's leadership, Florida currently leads the nation in disenfranchising voters who are formerly incarcerated. On November 8, over 23.3% of voting-age Black residents will not be able to cast a ballot because of Rick Scott's lifelong Florida disenfranchisement law.

Not surprisingly, Rick Scott is the chairman of Donald Trump's Super PAC. Governor Scott is making a mockery of our democracy and is exploiting his very strategic position this election year to pave Trump's path to the White House. Rick Scott knows that a month away from the election is a crucial time for voters to register—in 2012 86,000 people registered in the last 8 days before registration closed. President Obama won the election with only 82,000 votes that year. People of color, young people and others who tend to vote Democrat will be impacted the most.

This is straight-up voter disenfranchisement of the worst kind. Sign the petition to demand Rick Scott extend the voter registration deadline.

Right now, too many people in Florida are focused on surviving this devastating storm, not going through the now near impossible process of getting their registrations submitted and updated on time. "There are no excuses, you need to leave," Gov. Rick Scott said in a press conference Thursday morning. "This storm will kill you." Later that day, Gov. Scott refused to extend Florida's voter registration deadline, which is Tuesday, October 11th. "I'm not going to extend it," Scott declared. "Everybody's had a lot of time to register. On top of that, we have lots of opportunities to vote, early voting and absentee voting, so I don't intend to make any changes."

Add your name to make sure Rick Scott does not use this disaster to manipulate the election in Trump's favor.

Scott has banned his government from using the words "climate change," a political move that will continue to harm Black and poor communities in Florida. During Hurricane Katrina, we witnessed first hand what happens when Black people are left out of the political process. Black people were on their rooftops waving American flags for help and while the whole world was watching- our institutions failed to respond.

With his deliberate inaction, Scott is compounding the disaster for the people of Florida. By extending the voter registration deadline, we will be able to turn out more people in November- keeping Trump out of the White House and stopping Rick Scott in his tracks.

Subject: 'The Trump Effect' — as heard during the presidential debate last night

Sunday night, Hillary Clinton talked about the negative impact of this year's presidential campaign on the nation's children and classrooms.

Earlier this year, we issued a report documenting that many children of color fear they may be deported, separated from their families, or even subjected to violence after the election.

At the same time, teachers reported an increase in the bullying, harassment, and intimidation of children whose races, religions, or nationalities have been the verbal targets of candidates.

Read The Trump Effect.

We took action by devising classroom strategies and resources to help children reject prejudice and treat all of their classmates with respect. We also devoted the Fall issue of our award-winning Teaching Tolerance magazine to the subject, sending 400,000 free copies to teachers and schools.

Please make a donation today to help us continue to send these vital anti-bias materials to every school and teacher that requests them – at no cost to teachers – and continue all of our other work to combat bigotry.

Thank you for your commitment to justice and tolerance.
