From: Audrey Starr; Director, Marketing and Communications, YWCA Dayton
Subject: YWCA Dayton, KeyBank to make significant announcement on Dec. 7, 2017, at 10 a.m.

I have some breaking – albeit embargoed – news for you today, and hope that you can join YWCA and KeyBank tomorrow (Dec. 7, 2017) morning, at 10 a.m., at our flagship facility (141 W. Third St.) in the third floor auditorium for our big announcement: KeyBank is making a significant contribution to our upcoming full-building renovation, and in doing so, the project will also create The KeyBank Economic Empowerment Center at YWCA Dayton. See for full press release (attached), as well as some renovation renderings of our resident apartments, domestic violence shelter rooms, and the empowerment center.

Leadership from both organizations will be on hand to deliver remarks and conduct interviews:

  • Stacy Thompson, KeyBank Regional Corporate Responsibility Officer
  • Pat McDonald, KeyBank Dayton Market President
  • Joey Williams, incoming KeyBank Dayton Market President
  • Shannon Isom, president and CEO, YWCA Dayton

We will have a YW resident on hand as well to speak to the impact our renovation, and this project, will have on the women we serve.

If you have any advance questions, don't hesitate to give me a call/text (937-416-3924).
I'll be sharing images from the press conference shortly following it as well.

*Save The Internet - This Thursday, Dec 7*

Protest at a Verizon store against the rollback of net neutrality protections. This is a NATIONAL protest, taking place all across the country, at a Verizon store near you!

Internet users outraged by top Verizon lawyer turned FCC Chairman Ajit Pai's plan to gut net neutrality are planning to protest at Verizon retail stores across the country on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 7th,  one week before an expected vote at the FCC. Protesters will make it clear to members of Congress that the time is now to stand for net neutrality, not Verizon's bottom line. And please remember, this event is about protesting actions of Verizon executives, lobbyists and their supporters in Washington, not the employees at these stores.

Find a protest near you, or sign up to start your own!

Here in the Miami Valley, we have a store in Centerville, by the Dayton Mall, Beavercreek at the Fairfield Mall, and up on Miller Lane off of 75. Choose a location convenient to you! (Starting times range so check the RSVP link above to confirm location & time).

We MUST fight this, or you may not even be able to get access to platforms just like THIS one in the future.

If you are unable to attend, please contact Portman and Turner, as open internet supporters are demanding that lawmakers answer a simple question: "Do you stand for your constituents' ability to communicate and connect, or do you stand for Verizon's bottom line?"

For more information on what this is and how you can participate, go here http://verizonprotests.com/
