The U.S. Senate is scheduled to vote on two amendments at 5:30 pm ET today, which Doctors for America supports, one offered by Sen. Chris Murphy and one by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, to protect the public health and keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them.

S.Amdt 4691, offered by Sen. Murphy, would expand background checks on all gun purchases and S.Amdt 4720, offered by Sen. Feinstein, would make it more difficult for known or suspected terrorists to purchase firearms. Both of these proposals would help to save countless lives.

Call your Senator TODAY and urge them to support the Murphy and Feinstein amendments to the Commerce-Justice-Science appropriations bill.
