Subject: Donald Trump FURIOUS
This is INCREDIBLE: Doug Jones beat the odds and WON the Alabama Senate Special Election.
And he could never have done it without the undeniable Democratic momentum from Democrats like you.
This sends a powerful message to Republicans: NO DISTRICT IS SAFE IN 2018.
But we can't stop now. We're launching an UNPRECEDENTED effort to take back Congress in 2018 -- AND ALL DONATIONS ARE QUADRUPLE-MATCHED!
Republicans are TERRIFIED. But now that they've seen what Democratic momentum can do, they'll spare no expense to take us down.
After tonight's historic election, we already know we can win -- as long as we don't get too comfortable or complacent.
Please, chip in just a few dollars to keep Democratic momentum going and take back the House next year:

Breaking: Alabama Senate election: Doug Jones defeats Roy Moore, Fox News projects | 12 Dec 2017 | Democrat Doug Jones has pulled off a major upset in Alabama by defeating Republican Roy Moore in Tuesday's special election, Fox News has projected, becoming the first Democrat to win election to the Senate from the deeply conservative state in 25 years. The dramatic Democratic upset in deep red Alabama cuts the GOP's Senate majority from 52 to 51, further dimming Republican hopes of enacting major legislation backed by President Trump. With 91 percent of precincts reporting, Jones was ahead of Moore 49.6 to 48.8 percent.

Subject: Trump just picked on the wrong woman
This morning, in a wildly offensive and sexually-charged broadside on Twitter, Donald Trump went after Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. He wrote that she came to his office in the past, "begging" for campaign contributions and "would do anything" for them.1
Trump attacked Sen. Gillibrand because yesterday she became the fifth senator—and the first woman senator—to demand that he resign because of the numerous allegations of sexual harassment and assault against him.
Trump had no comment when male senators called on him to resign.2
We need to show Sen. Gillibrand—and women everywhere—that we have their backs when they are sexually harassed and when they speak out about sexual harassment and assault. We need to show harassers, abusers, and their protectors that attempts to silence women will backfire tenfold.
Will you support Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand's re-election? 100% of your donation will go to Sen. Gillbrand's campaign—and we'll make sure that every political reporter in Washington, D.C., knows just how much money Trump's outrageous tweet raised for a courageous, progressive woman who's calling out the most powerful man in the world for sexual harassment and assault. DONATE
We have reached a watershed moment in our country's history, with powerful men finally starting to be held to account for sexual assault and harassment. And Sen. Gillibrand is leading the way to make sure that Trump is held accountable for his despicable actions, too.
We can't let Trump undermine the momentum of the #MeToo movement. He will not intimidate women. He will not silence women. We will stand together to end the epidemic of sexual harassment and assault in our country.
Please, at this critical moment, let's come together. Click below now to chip in to Kirsten Gillibrand's reelection campaign. DONATE

Subject: Major news today re: Trump investigation
HUGE news: Today, for the first time, three women who have accused Trump of sexual assault and harassment came together at a press conference to demand Congress investigate his actions, which they detail as forcible kissing, groping, and more.1 They were joined by Sens. Bernie Sanders, Jeff Merkley, and Cory Booker, who became the first senators to call on Trump to resign over the allegations. And in a new independent poll, a record 70% of Americans think Congress should investigate the accusations.2
That's why tens of thousands of UltraViolet members signed this petition demanding that Congress investigate--but to get them to notice, we'll need far more.
Can you sign and share the petition to investigate Trump?
This past week alone, Rep. John Conyers, Rep. Trent Franks, and Sen. Al Franken resigned following multiple accusations of sexual harassment and assault.3 Investigations will likely follow for other members of Congress. Now the question is, what about Trump?!
Twenty women have accused Trump of sexual harassment and/or assault.4 He's even on tape bragging about assaulting women. So far he's escaped without any consequences, not even a formal investigation. In this moment of intense public scrutiny around sexual misconduct, Congress must act to hold Trump accountable.
In this #MeToo moment, it's vital that we listen to women. Yet, Trump's twenty accusers have been ignored while he continues to keep the most powerful and prestigious job in the country. These women deserve justice. Congress must investigate all accusations of sexual abuse against Trump. Can you sign the petition?
Tell Congress: "Investigate all accusations of sexual assault & harassment against Trump." |
Because of the #MeToo movement, members of Congress are not just facing pressure to resign, but an overhaul of the entire system. Members like Rep. Blake Farenthold, who spent $84,000 of taxpayer money to settle a harassment claim, announced he will pay it back.5 Thanks to the efforts of Rep. Jackie Speier, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, and others, Congressional leaders will be forced to institute sexual harassment and assault training for staff AND elected officials.6
All this while Trump gets off scot-free. It's infuriating, and it can no longer be allowed.
Accusations of sexual abuse have been investigated by Congress before. When Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas was accused of harassment, women serving in the House literally marched on the Senate--and successfully forced then-Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Joe Biden to open an investigation and invite Anita Hill to testify. 5 When Arkansas state employee Paula Jones accused President Clinton of harassment, he was forced to testify under oath and his perjury in the case ultimately led to his impeachment.6 Today, with the power and momentum we have now to bring pressure to bear on Congress, we can force an investigation and finally bring accountability to the abuser-in-chief.
Sign the petition to tell Congress: "Investigate all accusations of sexual assault & harassment against Trump."

Subject: Delay the vote! (Fake right-wing comment scandal at FCC)
Trump's FCC chair is pushing forward with a vote THIS WEEK to kill net neutrality, despite reports of shady tactics by the special interests who want to end net neutrality and dozens of members of Congress are calling for a delay in the vote.
The right-wing attack on our free and open internet is an attack on democracy itself.
Tens of thousands of PFAW members have already spoken up to demand action from Congress to intervene on behalf of internet users. Even if you were one of them, your members of Congress can't hear from you enough on this before Thursday's vote.
Tell your member of Congress to turn up the pressure on the FCC to STOP THE VOTE>>
At least 28 Senators are calling for the vote to be delayed after reports revealed that over 80 percent of the 22 million public comments sent into the FCC about this issue were fake comments sent by bots, almost entirely in favor of killing net neutrality. But the vote needs to be stopped entirely, and our representatives must do everything in their power to stop it.
Polling has shown that a clear majority of Americans support net neutrality, and upon further review, it now looks like 95 percent of legitimate comments submitted to the FCC supported keeping net neutrality.
Despite an ongoing investigation into the fake comments, Trump's FCC chair, Ajit Pai, still plans to hold the vote this Thursday. It's another example of this administration ignoring the will of the People and rushing full steam ahead to enact their corrupt, right-wing, corporate agenda while under a cloud of suspicion about the dirty tactics used by its supporters.
Members of Congress need to keep hearing from you to get them to act to stop the vote.
Add your name to urge your member of Congress stop the FCC vote on net neutrality!
A free and open internet is a crucial part of our functioning democracy that lets citizens easily access information and democratically share ideas. Many aspects of our lives could be impacted by the repeal of net neutrality -- organizing, connecting with our friends and family, applying for jobs, reading the news, and so much more.

Subject: FedEx ships $$$ to the NRA
The gun lobby doesn't just find allies among gun makers and dealers. As the biggest lobbying organization in the world, with an annual budget of more than $350 million, the NRA has pushed their way into many different aspects of American life. They even have a friend in the shipping industry.
For years, FedEx has been a member of the NRA's business alliance.1 Here's how it works: When an NRA member takes advantage of the discount FedEx offers, FedEx pays a commission for that business directly to the NRA. The arrangement cuts down on FedEx's marketing and advertising costs -- but it also funds the gun lobby's cynical, deadly "guns everywhere" agenda.
It's time for that relationship to end.
WATCH THE VIDEO & TELL FEDEX:
DON'T SHIP $$$ TO THE NRA
The gun lobby wants to normalize the presence of guns in every part of our society. They want to fill our streets, our workplaces, and everywhere in our communities. The partnership with FedEx helps forward that dangerous desire.
American companies shouldn't be supporting policies and organizations which lead to more dead Americans. FedEx needs to hear that from you, and they need to end their relationship with the NRA.
Add your name to the petition today.
