Subject: FW: FYI - Enrollment Meeting - Invitation

I wanted to take a moment to personally invite you to the Get Covered Academy Endowment Training that is being sponsored by the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation and Get Covered America. This three day training will go beyond just the enrollment process and take an in depth perspective of outreach efforts, and working with the uninsured. Participants in the training will receive continued support after the training in collaboration with national organizations who are also working on helping the uninsured and newly insured obtain, maintain, and understand their total healthcare needs. Attendance to all three days is not required, but encouraged and space is limited. I have copied the invitation that was sent to the coalition below with the links to RSVP to the event. The agenda is also attached and breakfast and lunch will be provided.  Thank you and we hope to see you or someone from your organization at the training.

Invitation:

As many of you heard at last month's meetings both SWOMAW (Cincinnati) and AHATF (Dayton) coalitions were elected to participate in the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation Endowment for the Get Covered Academy. Since it will be a combination of members from both Cincinnati and Dayton we have decided to hold the meetings in Butler County.

Our amazing members from Primary Health Solutions have offered to be our  host and secured the Ohio State University Extension office located at 1810 Princeton Rd, Hamilton, OH 45011 for the three days of the training on October 7-9.They are also sponsoring food for those days as well.  You will not be required to attend all three days, but a link with the agendas for each day has been set up to help us get a sense of how many people will be in attendance.

This training is free to those who attend and is not restricted to only those who directly participate in the coalitions. There may be members of your organizations who work with you and the uninsured who can also benefit from this training. As member organizations of the coalition's you are free to invite those individuals as well.

Please RSVP for them for us to make sure we have all materials and food for them for the days they attend. The day will start at 8 AM and end before 5 pm on each day. Please check the times listed below to see the end times for each training day.

Yellow Springs Forum on marijuana legalization vote

A community forum on the two ballot items involving marijuana legalization (State issues two and three ) will take place at the auditorium at Antioch University Midwest on Thursday, October 15, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Speakers will include Ian James, representing ResponsibleOhio, the group that gathered 306,000 petition signatures to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot legalizing both medical and recreational marijuana.  Speaking against that position will be Chris Kershner, vice president for public policy at the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, a group actively opposing the legalization initiative.

These presenters will answer questions from a panel of local journalists including, Lewis Wallace, who has reported on this issue for WYSO and NPR's All Thing Considered and Laura A. Bischoff from the Columbus bureau of the Dayton Daily News who has written extensively on the marijuana ballot initiatives.

The forum will provide ample opportunity for citizens in the audience to ask their own questions and express their own points of       view.
